Keep calm and declutter

keep_calm_organiser3.png

Hi, I'm Barbara.

I was a primary school-teacher for more than thirty years - a job where planning, organising  and communication are key.

Organising the home became a pressing and urgent interest when I had three children under five. Space in the house suddenly seemed to shrink, with pram and double buggy dominating the hallway and a washing machine in the kitchen that had to have a high chair moved out of the way before it could be opened. I did not thank my husband when he bought me a book called "Confessions of a Happily Organised Family" - how would that solve the space issue?

I loved that book though. The author, Deniece Schofield, had such a humourous and realistic take on home and family life, as well as great ideas on organisation, that I had a renewed sense of energy and motivation after reading it.

It took an extension to solve the washing machine problem, but my interest in decluttering and organising had begun.

The three under fives are now adults who are still semi -based at home. Everyone, including my husband, is resistant to being organised -- so I understand  some of the  challenges you might be facing!

Let me help you to get organised: whether that means stream-lining your wardrobe, sorting out your kitchen,  arranging cupboards that refuse to close or facing a room of doom.....

It may be that you need support sorting through possessions with strong emotional memories.....

When our homes and possessions feel disorganised and out of control it can affect us negatively in so many ways. It can feel difficult to relax and invite people into a space we sometimes feel embarrassed about.

Please do not let those feelings stop you from getting in touch with me -

I do understand and will not be coming to judge.

Whatever your decluttering or organising challenge might be, please contact me.

I would love to help.
